Elstow May Festival
Elstow May Festival has been held on Elstow green for centuries, perhaps even thousands, of years.
It now takes place on the first Saturday in May following the Bank Holiday Monday, and it starts at noon..
There is a traditional May Day procession, crowning of a May Queen and Maypole dancing. There is usually a funfair, live music, tea and cakes and bric-a-brac stalls and Moot Hall is open for visitors. For exact times, see local posters or contact the Abbey [email protected]
For more photos, and some videos, of historical Elstow May festivals, go to the Elstow Picture Archive.
